SSP in the UK

Some of our earliest roots were put down in the UK in 1966, when British Rail Catering, which would later go on to become SSP, was formed.

Fifty years on, SSP is the leading travel food provider in the UK & Ireland, operating at airports, railway stations and motorway services across the countries. Our local portfolio includes own brands Upper Crust, AMT, Millie’s and Café Local, world-leading brands including Starbucks, BrewDog and Burger King, and national favourites M&S Simply Food and The Breakfast Club.

Soul + Grain

Launched at London Victoria station in 2022, Soul + Grain offers a balanced range of products with a great selection of indulgent classics as well as a variety of vegan, vegetarian and nutritionally balanced options. The range of products are displayed with nutritional information, highlighting low fat, high protein, a source of fibre etc. In addition to serving great tasting food, SSP has partnered with UK-based Extract Coffee Roasters, bringing customers the opportunity to taste an ethically sourced artisan coffee made by highly trained baristas at Soul + Grain. The Victoria store is planned to be the first of a number and preparations are underway to open more Soul + Grain outlets at other UK stations and airports.

BrewDog

BrewDog is both the world’s largest craft beer bar chain and largest alcohol-free brewer which, in partnership with SSP, has been a fantastic addition to the travel space.  Our flagship unit opened in December 2023 at London Gatwick and features the full BrewDog experience, including photo booths and video game area, alongside a food offering of pub favourites and twists on classics such as the breakfast burger and chicken wings. We serve the full BrewDog beer range as well as a Gatwick exclusive called Flight Squad, and an all-day-dining menu. This pub paved the way for BrewDog Waterloo Station, and more locations across the UK.

The Breakfast Club

Our partnership with The Breakfast Club began in 2023 when we opened our first “caf” at London Gatwick. This was quickly followed-up with our first rail location at St. Pancras Station in 2024. It’s the first time the much-loved brand has opened in travel locations. Our cafs feature The Breakfast Club’s iconic menu, including crowd-pleasing pancakes, burgers and “club classics”, as well as a full bar and freshly-brewed coffee from Origin Coffee Roasters. Each outlet has its own feel, designed to seamlessly blend into its environment, for example, you'll find a train-travel theme at our St. Pancras caf. Whether going on holiday or enjoying a casual drink with friends, The Breakfast Club offers something for everyone.

AMT

AMT has its roots in 1993 Seattle but is growing quickly in the UK after being acquired by SSP in 2022. The brand was an original pioneer of great coffee in the UK and was the first to use 100% Fairtrade coffee and bio-degradable cups as standard. SSP is taking these forward-thinking foundations to expand the brand in train stations across the country. AMT continues to offer the Fairtrade coffee and excellent service it was built on, alongside a great range of all-day food, cold drinks, pastries and snacks for a quality on-the-go option on your commute or day out.
